New Anthology Release: Friends and Family Lost

When words become a bridge between heartbreak and healing, Friends and Family Lost stands as a moving anthology of remembrance, resilience, and the kind of love that endures beyond loss.

Compiled by Trunnis Goggins II, this collection brings together heartfelt stories from voices around the world — including Dr. Parul Dua Makkar, who contributes a deeply personal chapter honoring her late brother, Dr. Manu Dua, and her father — two guiding lights whose memories continue to inspire her purpose and her work.

“When my brother died, I wrote to keep his voice alive. When my father died, I realized I was writing to keep both of them with me,” says Dr. Makkar.
“This book is not only my story — it is our story: one of family, memory, and the love that never leaves.”

Known for the book Life Interrupted: Dr. Dua’s Survival Guide, Dr. Makkar co-wrote it with her late brother, Dr. Manu Dua. The book captures her brother’s reflections on life and the lessons he learned while facing his mortality at the age of 34 during his battle with cancer.
